Stewart Jones

 

I have lived in the Central Florida area for over 30 years. Currently my paintings are on display at the Artistic Hand in Oviedo and Gallery On First in Sanford. I have participated in many art festivals throughout Central Florida, most recently the Festival of the Masters at Disney. I am currently a studio artist at Gallery On First in Sanford, FL.

 

  

I continue to study watercolor while discovering new subjects for my paintings. I enjoy traveling to new areas where I find more of the natural beauty, which I desire to capture with watercolor painting. I hold a degree in Art from Ferris State College in Big Rapids, Michigan. After college I decided to explore other types of art mediums. That is when I discovered watercolors. I have painted over 1000 paintings in watercolor.

The work that I do is in the traditional realm of subject matter. I am working for a consistent style, while experiencing various subjects. I want to show work habits and a commitment to a long-term career. My goal is to see how you react personally to the paint, to the composition, and to your inner relationship
to the painting.

I continued to take art classes from various teachers and have attended workshops with such renowned artists as Joe Fettingus, Tom Lynch, Terry Madden, Tom Jones, Janet Rogers, Steve Rogers, Peter Spataro, and Frank Webb.

My original paintings are displayed in the homes of many residences from Florida to Maine, and I have had reproductions of my work used in advertisements for The Kroger Co., Opryland, The City of Orlando, and the Orlando Museum of Art. I previously served as the President of the Central Florida Watercolor Society. I am also a member of the Central Florida Plein Air Artists, the Florida Watercolor Society and Plein Air Florida. I have won numerous awards including the Taste of Oviedo poster in 2008 and 2009.
